How did I become to be The Enchanted? Well, it all starts long ago. I lived in a castle with my family, who had much wealth. Should I have been happy to have all this fortune? Many would say yes, however, I did not. I felt trapped. I, being an adventurous soul, wanted to explore and study things no one has ever explored before. Our people found me to be strange. I saw the looks, and I heard the snickers behind my back. My family started to exclude me out of many things .dinners, balls, even my brothers betrothal to his future bride. What did I do while they had their happy events? I went to my chamber and invited in the fairies to tell me the gossip of the valley while we sipped hydrangea juice. I learned from the Magician how to heal wounds in the blink of an eye. When the coast was clear, the sorceress would sneak in so she could show me how to lay out the cards to see into someones life should they ask. I found it amazing! They all knew I had the gift, although my family did not find it so amusing. The only ones who appreciated my gifts were the ones who worked for my family and the ones who taught me. They kept my secrets. One evening, as the family rejoiced in the birth of my brothers first child, I left, as much as it hurt me. Once again, they had excluded me because of my abilities. Sometimes I wanted to take my gifts and throw them aside for the love of my family, but I knew I could not. I had a use for them. The workers helped me pack my things and sneak away. As much as my family may have been relived to be rid of me, I know it ridiculed the family. But, regardless, thats when I started my own journey. I had learned enough from my friends to make it on my own in the unknown world regardless of the consequences. I suffered many cold evenings, many hot summer nights; however I always made it through. When cold, I would call upon my animal friends to keep me warm. When I was hot, I would call upon the fairies to use their wings to fan me as I walked. They were great company. A few weeks into my journey, I fell upon a small village, not knowing that they were part of my familys kingdom, and they not knowing who my family was. They welcomed me, gave me a place to rest fed me. They welcomed my gifts and called upon me many times to help someone who was sick and to guide those who were lost. I even enchanted a particular gentleman who found my abilities intriguing. He loved me for them and asked me for my hand. The summer solstice is where my fate turned grim. As the village slept, I heard the hooves of many horses. I quickly turned to my mirror, and the Magician told me to run, that trouble was coming. I firmly said No, that I had run long enough and that I would finally stand up to what I believed in. My betrothed stood beside me, grasping my hand. We stood side by side. As the horses came to a halt, I looked up and saw my brother. As he looked at me, I saw the hatred in his eyes, and my heart broke. As he dismounted his horse the village bowed down to him. I could only bow my head, even as my betrothed kneeled before him. My brother threw insults and told me I disgraced the family name. He ridiculed me until I cried tears of blood. He brought before me the servants who helped me and executed them on the spot when I could only look on. As for me, he ordered execution. My betrothed argued and begged him not to do it. The last words I heard were Fool, she has enchanted you. I took my last breath. So they think the Magician, the fairies and the Sorceress all combined their powers to keep me alive in spirit That brings us to now. I am Shay, The Enchanted. I get my name from the last words I heard. She enchanted you. I will someday find my betrothed, the only one who would stand up for me, but in the meantime, I help those who are lost in the underground world. And in this underground world is where I met Elsie, the Warrior Witch, who I teamed up with to present to you .Deathly Yours Theatre.
